How to Save Money on Plane Tickets

Do you have a vacation coming up? Want to go see your old friend in New York? Or are you getting married soon, and want to go somewhere cool and exotic on a honeymoon? Whatever the reason, we have tips and ideas for you to help you save money next time you buy plane tickets. Here is how you can save money on your next vacation: - Plan, plan and plan. While sometimes you can get great deals on last minute tickets, you don't want to depend on them if you have already planned a honeymoon, took time off work or told your kids about a great vacation you are going to go on. Plan your vacation in advance - that way you will have some time to shop around, compare prices and check out different possibilities, before committing to a particular ticket. - Shop around and compare prices. There are many places to buy plane tickets online, so compare prices at a few of them before buying.

Use web sites that provide information about different carriers, as well as web sites of each airline. You may find different prices, and get the best price, when comparing different web sites. If you travel a lot, it might make sense to you to get a travel credit card. These credit cards let you collect points for every dollar you spend on them, and then exchange the points for free or discounted tickets, depending on credit card rules. There are many of these credit cards on the market, so compare and find the terms that are best for you. - Be flexible and compare prices to fly on a few different days.

Sometimes it is cheaper to fly on a weekday, than on a weekend. Other times, exactly the opposite is true. Compare prices on flying different days of the week - you might find a day, that can still accommodate your schedule, and flying on that day might be cheaper.

Have fun on your vacation! When you save money on your plan tickets, you can spend more on something else on vacation - a better hotel room, more souvenirs, etc. .
